Incident Report for Web Cloud
Resolved
Dear customers,

Since last Friday, some mysql connexions problems or resolutions problems could be encountered on GRA2 clusters. Impact is located on website using old database hostname format (mysql5-xxx).
We are working on it.

To enable the connexions between your website and your database you could change your database host by the new hostname \"yourdatabaselogin.mysql.db\". You could find it on your OVH's panel.

Following all the necessary information.

Start time: Friday May 22 2020
Severity level : medium
User impact : Service Degraded
Technical impact (DC/geographical area) : GRA2

Root cause: since P19 migration to GRA, we regularly clean some unused code and infrastructure part. Last week, an operation to clean DNS entries was started. Unfortunately, we mistakenly activated a part of the script, developped to clean old mysql hostnames. As it has not been planned yet, it shouldn't have happened. It's not mandatory yet, but you can already use the new hostname, as explained in the migration documentation (https://www.ovh.co.uk/webhosting-migration/); the new hostname is visible on your OVHCloud panel, in database section of your hosting.
